The poly-vee drive belt in your washing machine grips the drum and rotates it, with the motor and the pulley.
If the drum inside your appliance isn't spinning, or produces excessive noise or vibrations when moving, there could be a problem with the drive belt. Over time the belt can become smoothed or stretched, and this can make the performance of the drum suffer. If the drum does not spin correctly, then your clothes may come out damp after the cycle has been completed.
